Racing in the Main Fleet racing was very competitive over the 2 day, 6 race programme with local sailor Matthew O’Dowd (aged 13) emerging the overall winner on 10 points from Jamie Aplin (12) on 18 points and KYC’s Cian O’Regan (13) on 21 points. This was Matthews third optimist regional championships win and all three sailors are part of the Worlds 2006 team travelling to Uruguay next December.
In the 28 strong Regatta Fleet Adam Hill RNIYC was the victor over Naoise Mulcrone from the RStGYC. and Mark Condy from Howth.
