Brief update from James O'Callaghan ISA Performance Director
Posted by admin

Today has been a long day on the water – waiting for the wind to fill in. Both the Laser Radial fleet with Ciara Peelo and Tim Goodbody in the Finn class have postponements for their scheduled second race of the day when the wind failed to hold. Those races will be reschuled tomorrow and the Finn class will now race on both Thursday and Friday to catch up.

The 470 fleet racing on the Alpha course are closer in shore and benefited from a sea breeze (5 knots average) to successfully completed their scheduled two races.

From Qingdao ISA Performance Manager James O’Callaghan commented:

“It’s fantastic that Ger & Phil have another race win. However it does highlight how difficult the conditions are here.  They are not doing anything different from race to race yet they post a win and a 25th on the same day.”
