RC44 MATCH RACE VICTORY FOR BMW-ORACLE WITH ONESAILS
Date: Wednesday, May 14 2008 @ 23:59:55 GMT

The second event of the international RC44 circuit - the one design class designed by Russell Coutts - saw an illustrious field made up largely by competitors from the 32nd America's Cup. Victory in the match racing and second placing in the fleet racing...

Cagliari - 27.04.2008

... phase went to BMW Oracle, with Larry Ellison on the helm and Russell Coutts calling tactics. The team’s sail programme was provided by OneSails using Millenium, developed in record time in the second half of 2007 and already on board of Team Omega winner in Dubai of the last event of the 2007 season.

Millenium provides superior sail stability while being lighter weight than other grand prix sails on the market – a quality particularly appreciated by the skipper of the BMW Oracle team.

Scarlino - 11.05.2008
EUROPEAN FINN
SILVER FOR GASPIC

The European Finn Championships concluded in Scarlino with Croatian Finn sailor, Ivan Gaspic snapping at the heels of the mighty Ben Ainslie, taking second place on the podium.
For Gaspic it signifies an important result after less than a year of collaboration with OneSails.
Gaspic is currently using Onesails' 672 mainsail in Polyester S1 500 for medium to light airs and the brand new AT3 in Kevlar for strong winds - the same configuration the sailor expects to use during the Olympic Games 2008 in Qingdao.

Malcesine - 12.05.2008
MELGES 32
AUDI SAILING SERIES 2008

Second place on the podium for Lanfranco Cirillo’s Melges 32 Fantastica (crew: Nicola Celon, Stefano Rizzi and Dede De Luca) after three days of intense competition on the waters of Lake Garda featuring 12 teams made up of top professionals.

After podium places in the year’s first two regattas (Malcesine and Monte Carlo) this latest result confirms the optimal performance of the sail package developed by OneSails for this one design class using Millenium Carbon Grand Prix membranes.
Cala Galera - 11.05.2008
COMET CUP 2008

Victory in the cruiser/racer class of the Comet 45S for Colpodaria (owner/helmsman Alessandro Fraboni and Andrea Fornaro tactician), taking the trophy ahead of 22 competitors.
Colpodaria was sailing with a set of sails in VEKTOR Glass, a product developed by OneSails for cruising and club racing – a quality allowing optimal performance in terms of weight, strength and durability.

The continuous thread structure (one-piece sail) supported by fibreglass provides a product with structural characteristics similar to those of carbon/dyneema grand prix sails, but at a price comparable with "panel" sails.

Riva di Traiano - 27.04.2008
ROMA PER TUTTI:
ONESAILS BEATS ONESAILS
Victory for two yachts using OneSails sails.

Line honours and the race record went to maxi, Ourdream Damiani, which, after dominating the early stages of the race, went on to set a new race record of 54 hours, 23 minutes, beating the old mark, set by Shining in 2001, by 23 minutes.

Meanwhile Alba Blu, the First 40.7 owned by Beppe Barone took first place on corrected time.
The 80 footer, designed by Reichel-Pugh and crewed by Dede de Luca, Stefano Rizzi and Michele Paoletti has been fitted out with a new set of OneSails sails in Millenium that allowed the crew to deal with variable wind conditions (peaking at of 30 knots) without a minimum need for sail changes.

Particularly satisfied was Dede de Luca, head of the project team at OneSails that has developed the sails for Ourdream, and able to edge into the role of skipper for the race: “the resistance and stability of Millenium in a wider wind range means we are able to carry far fewer sails on board than would be the case with other products on the market. During the Roma Per Tutti we were able to use a light genoa in place of the Jib Top.

Our current sail plan has led to an average saving of 20% in weight relative to their previous set-up, meaning considerably less weight on board, particularly on the mast. This means better weight distribution and a considerable positive effect on the boat’s inertia.
