KYC TO HOST FLYING FIFTEEN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

 The first Flying Fifteen European Championships to be hosted in Ireland will be sailed off the Cork coast and run by Kinsale Yacht Club from 20th - 23rd August 2008.

The ever popular one design keelboat, now in its 61st year, continues to provide close and exciting racing.

The Championships are expected to be an Open Event with entries from the UK, mainland Europe, Australia and New Zealand.


Current World Champion Mike Hart has confirmed that he will travel as are at least three other previous world champions, Charles Apthorpe, Alan Bax and three times winner Steve Goacher.


 A large turnout is expected from the Irish fleets with Darren Martin & Simon Murray expected to feature after their great results in the recent World Championships.
 
Club Commodore Clem McElligott confirmed that some sponsorship details have still to be finalised but with support from the Irish Sports Council and the Irish Sailing Association it promises to be a great contest in a fantastic location.
