ANGLO IRISH BANK KINSALE FASTNET RACE
Posted by Admin

Kinsale Yacht Club is delighted to announce the continuing involvement of Anglo Irish Bank for this year’s Kinsale Fastnet Race. The race is an open SCORA event for Class 1, 2 and 3 Cruisers and Racer/Cruisers and takes place on Saturday, 16th June with FG at 09:55.  The course is Kinsale – Fastnet Rock (rounded to port) – Kinsale with a time limit of 16:00 on Sunday 17th June.

Why not introduce some of your crew and friends to the delights of overnight sailing with the added attraction of rounding one of sailing’s most prestigious waypoints?  What’s more, entry is free and if all that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, free berthing will be available on the Kinsale Yacht Club’s marina from Thursday to Monday for visiting participants!

The Notice of Race and Entry Form can be downloaded from: http://www.kyc.ie/results.html  or by contacting the Race Office at KYC at: (021) 4773433 or by e-mail at: info@kyc.ie.  Intending competitors should complete the entry form as early as possible and fax it to the KYC office as per the fax number on the entry form.  This will facilitate planning of berthing arrangements.  Crew names/numbers do not need to be finalised until the safety inspection on the eve of the race.  Sailing Instructions for this event will be posted on www.kyc.ie in the coming days.

Intending competitors for this race should note that this is an ISAF Category 3 Event with Liferaft. For more information on ISAF Category 3 Event with Liferaft regulations, please go to www.sailing.org and select Rules … Offshore Special Regs from the menu.  Copies of the checklist will be made available in advance of the race.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
