... and some of the finest sailing talent including gold medalist Ben Ainsle aboard TP52 ‘Henri Llyod Cutting Edge’. There are over 20 different designers or brand of yachts which makes for some interesting comparisons, especially this being a Rolex Commodores’ Cup trial event for the UK teams, although due to only two races been run it’s likely another trial event will have to be run.

Among the Irish in attendance were Silk Glove, Blondie IV, Jump Juice and Voodoo Chile. In IRC 0, Colm Barringtons new Kerr 39 ‘Silk Glove’ finished 1st scoring a 1st and 2nd place to clear Fever, Swan 45 by 3 points. The boat was chartered Anthony O’Leary who is part of the Irish Commodore Cup Team.

In IRC 1, Blondie IV, a Mark Mills designed King 40 and owned by Eamonn Rohan performed well for her first outing finishing with a 1st place podium finish closely followed by fellow Corkman Conor Phelan with Jump Juice. Also, ex Flying Glove and now Erivale 3 finished 3rd in IRC 1 proving she is still a boat to be reckoned with.

Other attending Irish included Dun Laoghaire boat ‘Voodoo Chile’ who retired due to gear damage and Hamble based J109 Blond.ie who also retired after an on the water incident.
